Centre Principal, Royston and Red Lodge: Claire Thompson
L.I.S.T.D
Claire began dancing at the Lane Studio at 6 years of age and soon developed into a talented pupil, excelling in all Dance Sport genres.  Her major achievements included winning the ISTD National titles in Modern Ballroom, Latin American and Classical Sequence in the same year.  Claire realised early that she wished to pursue a career in teaching and began as an assistant teacher after completing her GCSE’s, taking her first ISTD teaching certificate soon afterwards.  Since then she has been studying for the new government accredited qualifications and became the first person to take the new Latin American Intermediate examination. Claire continues to be involved in all genres, teaching and entering pupils for examinations and national competitions, as well as teaching dance in many local primary schools.
In 2008 Claire was awarded the Phyllis Haylor Scholarship by the ISTD for the most promising teacher and in December 2009 she was awarded Coach of the Year by West Anglia Sports Partnership.

Centre Principal, Horringer: Ronnie Walford A.I.S.T.D
Ronnie first attended classes at the Haverhill branch of the Lane Studio aged 7 years, to learn Disco Freestyle and Rock ‘n’ Roll.  Later, her training moved to the Lane Studio, where she quickly became interested in the other dance disciplines.  In a short time she showed a natural flair for the competition floor, gaining many successes, particularly in Disco Freestyle competitions. After leaving college and taking her first teaching certificate she began her teaching career in Haverhill once again, teaching all Dance Sport genres.  She has entered pupils at area and national competitions with considerable success, most notably in the Disco Freestyle Team events.  Ronnie is now studying for the new government accredited qualifications offered by the ISTD.
