Young Dancers Step Out Strictly
for Suffolk MP
Local
dancers in Horringer tripped the light fantastic
recently under the gaze of the MP for West Suffolk, Richard
Spring.
Mr Spring became interested in the dancers, who
train
with the Lane Dance Centres, when he read of their success at a recent
Suffolk
Open competition. On
that occasion they
waltzed away with first place in an open invitation team match, as well
as
amassing an array of trophies in individual events.
Ronnie Walford, the Horringer centre principal was
delighted with their recent results, “Pupils from our
Haverhill, Newmarket and
Royston Centres took part and we were thrilled with their results. Our classes in Horringer
are quite new, but
already the children and teenagers who attend are preparing for their
first exams
and looking forward to getting out on the competition floor”
The Director of the Lane Dance Centres, Marion Lane
was also very pleased to welcome Mr Spring to see the classes.
“The development
of dance education and in particular, teaching qualifications is a
current
issue” she said, “ Government recognition, through
the QCA, has been given to
new ISTD examinations, and the quality of this training shows in our
teachers
and their pupils”
